I got online yesterday and I had a friend request from someone I didn't recognize. I asked him if we had met before and this is how our conversation went.

I'm happier than I've ever been. Kelly was just reminding me today that she became close to the gospel thanks to you and I became close to the gospel thanks to her. When I go on my mission, I will hopefully get to baptize many people. I've already begun ancestry work, so a lot of people are ultimately going to owe their conversion to you. Funny how the gospel spreads so quickly

Next summer; I can't wait to serve my mission. Half of my patriarchal blessing talks about it so I'm determined to go. Money is really tight right now, but nothing could stop me from serving my mission. In a family that is all non-member, there is a lot of pressure from my fam not to go, but It's what I want more than anything. Everyone at church has been really supportive and several people have asked me if they can help financially. Even though money is tight, I get this strange feeling that everything is going to be okay and I haven't stressed about it at all. I know that I will be financially secure because I pay a generous tithing and from that I have already received many blessings. Also, I know that the spirit wouldn't inspire a Stake Patriarch to give me a long blessing detailing my mission if there was no way I could end up going on one. I have faith that everything would be okay and I'd say I'm a pretty chill guy about the whole situation

I haven't written him back yet. I absolutely loved being a counselor at EFY last summer. I still keep in touch with many of my kids and it feels so good to have played a part in changing someone's life for the better. Kelly was one of my girls one week...I can't remember which week. I will never forget the experiences we had together. She came to me with her deepest darkest secrets and through prayer she truly had a change of heart and it is amazing to be a part of that. What was amazing was that I was strengthened in so many ways because of my youth. They were in fact the best examples to me. I really wish I could be back there again this summer. Jordan, Jon Dalton and Angie are all counselors again and angie just texted me saying, "I am a BC this week and in charge of the musical program!" I am so excited for her. She is such a
wonderful person and has always been such a great friend to me.
